The Lyttelton Timeball Station was built in 1874 and was constructed of volcanic rock walls using prison labour.  The building suffered substantial damage during the 2010 -2011 Canterbury earthquakes and was subsequently demolished. 

DPA Architects are working to restore this significant and unique structure to the Lyttelton skyline.
