The buildings at Torpedo Bay boatyard form one of the most intact examples of nineteenth century military establishment in New Zealand.  The historic buildings, consisting of a connecting-up shed, loading stores and shipwright’s shop, were restored, adapted, and incorporated into a larger museum.

DPA Architects prepared a conservation plan and were appointed as heritage architects for the project.
